Digital Media 1.0
Valencia

I participated in a seminar on digital media and distribution and dissemination of new media production. My paper was about “Podcasting: art form or marketing tool?”
Together with Luna Nera artists SDNA and Julian Ronnefeldt, I exhibited video. My piece is a short digital film “Moments in the transference of knowledge” made in collaboration with Nazir Tanbouli.

March 2008 was the building of London’s cheapest house! An art installation made out of the free newspapers that litter the city’s strets and transport, the “house” was made by Sumer Erek and documented by me. As well as doing the photo shoot for the publicity [above], My job was creating the photogrpahic images for the publicity campaign, and I followed Sumer Erek around with my camera while he was building the piece. I also made a short documentary podcast for the Guardian and Building Design websites.

News 2007
Autumn I was participating in the event “In Situ07″, in Barcelona, at La Farinera del Clot 26.10.07
Summer I was lucky enough to take a trip through British Columbia up to the Rocky Mountains.
Spring I was in the exhibition Coldstore, in Berlin. Then I worked with artist Sumer Erek on a project called Toprak: The RawEarth project. This is a site specific project that is made up of series of actions and things – art works, performances, texts -and is an ongoing organic collective project. My contribution is in literary and critical writing. On 7 June Erek presented the project at the Venice Bienniale 2007.
2006
Autumn I attended the Vidifestival Valencia as participant and spectator. I gave a talk introducing the work of Luna Nera at the Llogeta, and a paper on the problems of contemporary video art practice, at the University of Valencia. There were screenings of Luna Nera video work and a live video mixing show by Valentina Floris.
Summer I created a work based on ideas of Anselm Kiefer and writings of Gaston Bachelard about the idea of “empty” space. The work “no empty place (is ever empty)” is an ongoing audio-video research project, and was shown at the AirSpace, for the exhibition ‘Conjunction’.
